Band Design

The band of this ring is made of platinum, and it’s straight and narrow across the bottom. At about the mid-point on each side, a wider decorative piece crosses it, and this is where a more organic design begins to emerge. At first, the band curves outward on both sides and then in again, narrowing to meet a floral-shaped piece that extends beyond the margins of the band. This occurs on both sides of the center, and the next sections that move up the sides curve out and back in again before both meeting the largest flower-shaped piece at the top. Diamond and Milgrain Accents

A single small round diamond is bright cut set in the middle of each flower section, and the three of these together total 0.03 carats. Their brilliant sparkle helps them stand out despite their small size, however, and their positioning in the center of each flower helps to enhance the organic overtones of the design.

In the process of customizing this ring, you may consider using a different type of gemstone in place of some or all of the diamonds. Colored diamonds or sapphires are an excellent option in this regard, as they provide the opportunity to integrate something of personal significance while also further exploring the floral elements of the piece. Lines of milgrain beading run along each of the sections between the flowers, with eight in each. They’re generally parallel to each other and evenly spaced, following the curves of the sections they sit in. There is a larger space between the two middle lines due to the width and curvature of the segments, and this detail helps to highlight the elegant curves of the design.
