(item # 1126)
This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond prong set in the center of a shared prong set halo of smaller round diamonds, all atop a split white gold shank. It was created for a client who came to us hoping to have an irreparable family heirloom remade. We took the stones from the existing ring, and we build this new setting around them, all the while staying faithful to the original design. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Setting and Halo
The centerpiece of this ring is a round brilliant cut diamond, and it’s held in place by four white gold prongs that rise up through the middle of the surrounding halo. The halo is made up of 12 small round diamonds that are all shared prong set in a ring around the center. Halo Engagement Rings
The metal base of the halo is squared with softly rounded sides, and the diamonds set within it form a mostly squared shape with rounded corners. This produces a unique effect, and it highlights the elegantly round shape of the stones in the center setting by juxtaposing them with more square shapes.
The band is one piece across the bottom, and it widens as it moves toward the top before splitting into two strands about one-third of the way up each side. The strands that emerge from the split continue away from each other at a steady rate, eventually meeting the center setting at the corners of the halo. Diamond Engagement Rings
On the underside of the shank shoulders, a smaller strand breaks off from each original strand, and these continue on the main arc of the band to connect to their counterpart on the other side while the main strands rise up to meet the center setting. A U-shape piece of metal loops from one corner of the halo to the other on each ring front as well, adding a subtle detail that provides a satisfying balance to the piece.
