This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a four prong setting atop a white gold cathedral shank with split prong set diamond accents on the shoulders. It was created for a client from Irvine, CA, who used the Ring Builder tool on our website to share his preferences with our team.
He also uploaded an image of an inspiration piece he’d found, and we used all of that information to create a unique design for him. After seeing the sketch our artist came up with, the client was very excited and ready to proceed with the custom design process. Center Diamond
At the top of this ring is a round brilliant cut diamond, and it’s prong set in platinum for a classy and stylish look. The diamond is about twice as wide as the band, which is a departure from the client’s main inspiration piece. In that ring, the band was as wide as the diamond, but he decided that he wanted as thin and delicate a band as possible, so we adjusted the design accordingly. Diamond Engagement Rings
Diamond Accents and Band Design
The band itself is one flat, solid piece, with a small groove running down the middle of it all the way around. Beginning at the top and continuing down to the mid-point on the shank, split prong set diamonds line one side of this divided band. These are on opposite sections on each side of the diamond, adding a twist of asymmetry to the ring.
The diamonds add a lovely contemporary flair as well, thanks to their placement and the type of setting used. However, you could push the design a bit more in the vintage direction by using a bright cut setting instead, or you could use colored diamonds or sapphires rather than the white to introduce some contrast to the piece.
