This stunning men’s wedding ring features a two-tone look created by leaving the center band of white gold unplated. The ring itself is squared, and a single round diamond is gypsy set in the middle section. It was created for a client from Plymouth, PA, who found some rings on our site that she liked and chose one to customize for her fiance. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
This piece is divided into three parts, with the center section made of unplated 14k white gold, and the sides plated. That combination creates a lovely contrast between the sliver of the outside and the champagne color on the inside. The sections are separated definitively by deep, stylized grooves that are silver like the outer bands but share the same brushed finish as the raised portions of the piece.
The grooves that divide the bands of the ring are asymmetrical, with a straight edge on the inside where they border the unplated section, and almost a curved edge on the outside. The curves come to a point at the corners of the squared band, which is the widest point of the grooves. This arrangement complements the squared shape of the band nicely, and it adds an extra layer of complexity to the design as well.
There is a single round diamond gypsy set off to the side on the top of the ring. The type of setting used allows it to sit flush with the band, and it contrasts nicely with the unplated white gold so that the diamond is clearly visible without dominating the design.
Working a gemstone into a men’s ring like this is a good way to create a link with the women’s bands that make up the rest of the wedding set. And even if you don’t want the gemstone on the outside, you can still include one flush set on the inside of the band as a special detail only you and your partner know about.
