This stylish men’s wedding ring features a two-tone look created by the combination of a platinum inner band framed by palladium rails. It was created for a client from Woodinville, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to get the custom design process started. After gathering information about the type of rings he liked and the kinds of features that appealed to him, we developed this design, which he was very happy with.
This piece makes use of the slight color difference between platinum and palladium to create a subtle, two-tone look. The whiter platinum in the center is highlighted by the darker palladium rails on either side, and all three strips have a brushed finish for a nice matte effect. The rails are separated from the center section by blackened grooves, which helps to make the separation between sections more clear as well.
Finish and Metal Options
There are many ways you can customize this design to suit your own personal style. For instance, if you’d like to increase the contrast between the sections of the ring, you could opt for a different combination of metals. Substituting yellow or rose gold for either the platinum or the palladium would create a very different look for the piece, as it would push things in a more classical direction.
Another option would be to use a different type of finish on all or part of the ring. This could mean polishing or sandblasting the entire band, depending on the type of look you’re going for. Or it could mean introducing contrasting finishes to further emphasize the separation of the two sections. One way to do this might be to keep the brushed finish on the rails, but switch to a high polish on the center band to help it really stand out. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
