Custom Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #101215Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
The mokume gane technique was originally developed in Japan in the 1700s for use in making decorative sheaths and handles for samurai swords. It involves layering several different metals together and then forging them so that they mix to create lovely patterns reminiscent of wood grain.
Because of the nature of this process, each mokume piece carries its own unique pattern, and that makes it an excellent choice when you want to create a truly one-of-a-kind ring to mark such a special time in your life.
This ring in particular was made using 14k palladium white gold, 14k rose gold, and sterling silver, and the colors of these metals complement each other nicely in combination. The sandblasted finish helps to emphasize the organic nature of the design, and it gives the ring an understated, contemporary feel.
Custom Rings
Creating a piece of mokume jewelry requires a great deal of skill and experience. Our artisans have an ample supply of both, and this is what allows us to offer you lovely and unique custom pieces like this one.
If you’re interested in creating a personalized wedding ring, our professional designers are here to assist you. We’ll work closely with you from the very beginning to ensure that your vision is fully reflected in the finished piece.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
