These stunning drop earrings feature aquamarine centers, surrounded by a double halo of diamonds, and accented with an additional diamond in the stud at the top. The design was specially created for a couple from Bellevue, WA, who found the custom-cut aquamarines at one of our gemstone parties and wanted us to create the perfect earrings to highlight their beauty.

Although they began the custom design process in person at our Bellevue, WA showroom, we worked with these clients primarily online after that to finalize the details of the design. Thanks to our 3D imaging technology and our wonderful design team, they were completely satisfied with the pieces we produced.
Specialty-cut Aquamarines
The aquamarines that anchor these earrings have a delicate light blue color, and they’re held securely in platinum split prong settings. Their unique cut renders them almost square, but with slight outward movement along each side. These contours are what drive the design of the rest of the piece, and they also help the sparkle of the stones really shine through.
Double Halo
Just below the main stones sit halos of round split prong set white diamonds set in platinum. The brilliant white of these stones contrasts perfectly with the subtle blue of the aquamarines, helping to highlight both colors. And the diamonds reflect extra light back up onto the center stones, which increases their brilliance as well.
Running along the outside of the first halo is a second, but this one features pink diamonds set in 18k rose gold. The additional contrast really gives these pieces a sense of completion, and the use of pink diamonds combined with the warm color of the rose gold lends them a bit of romantic flair as well.
Both rings of the halos follow the contours of the aquamarines, and that gives them a generally square shape but with gentle outward curves along the sides. Not only does this make for a lovely presentation, but it also helps to emphasize the unique cut of the center stones.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care

- Inspection every six monthsOur jewelers inspect your piece and provide ongoing care for the custom jewelry we make for you.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
