Description
These stunning drop earrings feature trillion shaped amethysts, set in the center of diamond halos, and accented with additional diamonds at the top. They were created for a couple from Bellevue, WA, who already had the center stones and wanted us to design the perfect settings to display them. Design Your Own Earrings

They initially worked with our team in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to discuss their vision for the project, and once we had developed some CAD models of the piece we proposed to build, we shared them online. The clients loved what we had outlined, and they quickly gave their approval to move the set into production.
Vortex Cut Amethyst and Halo
The centerpieces of these earrings are specialty vortex cut trillion amethysts, and their rich color is only enhanced by the perfect lines and swirling dynamics created by the cut. Taken together, these stones come out to 11.95 carats, making them a good size to act as the anchor for such extraordinary pieces.
A halo of round split prong set diamonds surrounds the amethysts, and it adds a lovely contrast while also reflecting additional light up onto the larger stones, thereby helping to maximize their brilliance. The halo is a popular element for use in a wide variety of pieces, and it lends some classical flair to the design.
Diamond Accents
Just above the amethysts and halo, is a single bezel set round white diamond. These act as a transition piece connecting the pear shaped irradiated yellow diamond at the top to the body of the earrings below. The shapes of these accent stones complement each other nicely, and they also play off of the trillion shape of the amethysts to highlight the balance in the set.
Filigree Design
The basket behind the amethyst is formed from a beautiful hand-made filigree that features heart and scroll shapes in an organic arrangement. This works well with the diversity of colors found in the gemstones to develop a subtle floral theme, and it also reinforces the classical overtones.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
