Description
These stunning amethyst drop earrings are anchored by pink tourmaline studs, and they incorporate a two-tone rose and white gold spiral design stretching down to the specialty cut amethysts at the bottom. They were designed for a client from Mercer Island, WA who purchased the amethysts at one of our gemstone parties in our Bellevue, WA showroom and wanted to create the perfect earrings to highlight their beauty. We took her ideas and worked them into a design that she could adjust, and once she was completely satisfied, we put them into production.

Specialty-cut Amethyst
These earrings were built around the two specialty-cut amethysts suspended perfectly at the bottom of the two-tone drop jacket. The stones have a beautiful purple color, and the way they’re cut really gives them added depth and sparkle.
They’re held securely in a six prong setting that rises up from the intricate basket below. This setting is made from rose gold, the warmth of which contrasts nicely with the cool purple of the stones. And the openness of the setting shows off the stone from all angles, allowing its natural beauty to really shine through.
Versatile Design
The drop jacket of these earrings is designed to slide on or off the stud, allowing the studs to be worn separately. This type of built-in versatility allows you to get the most out of any type of custom jewelry, and our expert designers and jewelers can execute just about any design detail you’d like to see.
Two-tone Jacket
The two-tone jacket, made of a combination of 14k white gold and 14k rose gold, increases the versatility of these earrings even more, as it makes it easier to accessorize them with different outfits. After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
