Australian Opal
Opals are representative of love, hope, and happiness, which makes them an excellent choice for a piece of jewelry that’s marking any number of significant moments in your life or relationship. The particular opals used in these earrings are Australian, and their soft white color is the perfect complement to the 14k rose gold that makes up the setting.
The opal in the stud is round, and four prongs frame it nicely while still letting its natural beauty shine through. At the bottom of the drop chain, there are pear shaped opals each held with three prongs, which is an arrangement that’s more suited to their particular shape.
Drop Chain Jacket
The drop chain jacket that holds the larger opal slides onto the stud, and it can also be removed if you just want to wear the top part on its own. This design offers wonderful versatility, as it makes the earrings appropriate for a much wider variety of occasions.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
