Earrings Description
To begin the process, or just to learn more about what’s involved, feel free to stop by our Seattle and Bellevue, WA showrooms in person or reach out to our team through our website. We can help you determine precisely what combination of features you prefer, and we’ll show you sample pieces to help you bring clarity to your vision. We’ll also develop digital models of your design for you to modify or approve before we cast anything in metal. Design Your Own Earrings
Peridot Centers
The only gemstones in this set are a pair of cushion shaped checkerboard cut peridots that together total 2.02 carats. They’re each bezel set in 14k white gold to form a body of one earring in the set, and the precise arrangement of facets across their front surface produces the distinctive pattern of light and dark areas from which the cut gets its name.
The bezel settings of the peridots are generally faithful to the contours of the stones, but they do deviate a bit from this path in the middle of each of the stone’s four straight sides. At these points, the margin of the setting angles quickly out into a point before returning to the original curve, and these points sit at the compass positions. That helps to give the earrings a star-like appearance, and it adds to the vintage feel of the set. Earrings
Milgrain and Filigree
That vintage aesthetic is only reinforced by the use of a double row of milgrain beading running all the way around the top of the bezel settings. Behind the stone, a delicate web of filigree forms a basket that both provides protection to the peridots and adds to the intricacy of the design.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
