Carved Pearls
The bodies of these earrings are composed of 10.5mm white freshwater pearls, and they have wave-like grooves running down their sides to produce a floral motif. The pearls themselves are slightly elongated, and this works well with the placement of the grooves to make them appear like flower buds about to open.
The elongated shape of the pearls also enhances the elegant feel of the set. The pearls are slightly wider at the top near where they join the findings, and the way the grooves create an uneven surface all the way around produces interesting interplays of light and color that add to the organic overtones of the design.
Earring Design
At the top of each pearl, a small cap serves to connect the pearl to the finding. On top of the cap, a loop of metal extends up for the finding to pass through, and this is in the form of a thin strip of metal that travels straight up before curling back to pass through the ear. Earrings

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
