Item #102870 $7,931 Price does not include center stoneEngagement Ring Description
She was looking for something that combined vintage and contemporary elements, and so we came up with a couple of sketches for her to consider. After seeing our initial CAD offerings, she asked to see a few more to make it easier to visualize the finished product. Only once she was sure the design was exactly what she wanted did we turn her piece over to our expert artisans to begin production.
Sapphire Center
At the center of this ring is a 2.30 carat blue sapphire that’s cushion cut and prong set. The four double split talon prongs holding it in place help accentuate its lovely shape, and the brilliant white of the platinum also contrasts nicely with the rich blue of the sapphire. Sapphire Engagement Rings
Sapphires come in many different colors, and they’re nearly as hard as diamonds, making them a good option if you’re looking for an alternative center stone in your engagement ring. Using a colored sapphire in this position is a great way to work in something of personal significance to you and your partner such as eye color.
Diamond Accents
Right next to the main sapphire on each shank shoulder, a baguette diamond is bezel set lengthwise across the band. Directly below this, a bullet shape diamond lies inline with the band, with its flat end against the baguette stone, and its pointed end extending down toward the middle of the shank. Vintage Engagement Rings
After seeing our initial CAD models, the client asked if there was anything that could be done to push things in a more vintage direction, and so we suggested adding milgrain beading, as this feature is found in most vintage rings. We used it to frame the accent diamonds on each side, as well as the spaces on both ring fronts, and this minor adjustment got the client exactly the look she was after.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
