Engagement Ring Description

This elegant engagement ring features an Asscher cut diamond partial bezel set in yellow gold atop a tapered band. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who initially reached out to us with some ideas about the styles he thought his fiancee-to-be would like. After reviewing the images he shared online, we produced a CAD model of a piece inspired by some of the common elements found in the rings shared. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

He loved the design and requested a wax model to make absolutely sure it was perfect. We sent him the wax, and once a few more details had been clarified, he gave his approval to move the ring into production.

Diamond Solitaire

The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.60 carat Asscher cut diamond. It’s framed beautifully by the partial bezel setting, which rises up smoothly from the band to wrap around the stone on each side. The setting is open on the fronts of the ring, however, and this allows in plenty of light to ensure the diamond’s true brilliance is evident. It also gives a clear view of the lovely stone, and the clean lines of the setting emphasize the tasteful elegance of the design. Solitaire Engagement Rings

An Asscher cut is similar to an emerald cut, but its table is generally higher and smaller thanks to the larger step facets on the sides. Diamonds with this cut are square, but with truncated corners that help to soften the appearance somewhat. They peaked in popularity in the early part of the 20th century, and so including one in your piece is a good way to reinforce a classical or antique theme if that’s the look you prefer. Band Design

The band itself is nearly as wide as the center diamond at the top, but it tapers smoothly down to reach its narrowest point right at the bottom. The lovely color of the 18k yellow gold helps enhance the classic look of the design, and it also contrasts nicely with the brilliant white of the diamond at the top.
