Description
This beautiful engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a six prong platinum setting, accented with custom filigree and milgrain on the shank. It was created for a client from Redlands, CA, and its delicate vintage look is just what he was after. We initially met with him in our Bellevue, WA showroom, and then we continued to coordinate with him through the online workroom we set up to manage his project. Solitaire Diamond
At the top of this ring sits a single round brilliant cut diamond. It’s 1.02 carats, and the six white gold talon prongs holding it in place frame it beautifully. This design is considered a solitaire because the center diamond is the only gemstone in the ring, and it’s a classic choice when it comes to engagement rings. Solitaire Engagement Rings
Although the diamond is clearly the focus of this ring, it’s far from the only important element. There are many small design details in any piece that come together to make it truly special and unique. So even if you decide to go with a traditional design like a diamond solitaire, that doesn’t mean it has to look like every other ring.
Filigree and Milgrain
The shank shoulders are formed from an intricate filigree featuring Celtic symbols, and this extends down to the mid-point on the band. The design is lined with milgrain beading to help reinforce the vintage themes already present in the piece, and it helps highlight the elegant lines of the design as well. The client was initially unsure whether he wanted the milgrain or not. After reviewing wax models with and without it, though, he decided to stick with the milgrain as he liked the way it enhanced the design. The filigree and milgrain detailing also continue around the base of the main setting, with scroll shapes intertwining with the prongs as they rise up from below to help bring a nice sense of cohesion to the piece.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
