After finding a ring on that first visit that they wanted to customize, the clients then worked with our team through the online workroom we set up to manage their project. This is where we shared concept sketches we developed based on their input, and they provided feedback on these to help us finalize the details of their piece. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Morganite
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.44 carat round morganite with a delicate peachy pink color, which was just what the clients requested. It’s set in four rose gold prongs, and the warm tones of the metal really help highlight the lovely shade of the stone.
The original ring the clients based their design on had a six prong setting for the center, but they requested we find a way to shift to four prongs. They also replaced the center diamond in their inspiration piece with the morganite, and they chose a larger center stone, which allowed us to open up the top of the band more to highlight the detail of the filigree. Band Design and Milgrain Accents
The band is domed and straight across the bottom, and the milgrain detailing starts about half-way up each side. This is also where the filigree begins to open up the surface of the band, although it still maintains roughly the same width until it’s almost to the center setting. At that point, the band begins to widen more dramatically to accommodate the large center setting, and the filigree adjusts to fill this space elegantly as well.
Milgrain lines the filigree pattern, both on the shank shoulders and on the fronts of the ring below the center setting. It’s a detail that enhances the vintage overtones of the design, and it makes the intricacy of the filigree pattern that much more clear.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
