To begin the custom design process, you can visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person, or you can reach out through our website. Our team will take the information you provide about your style and feature preferences, and we’ll use it to create a unique design in CAD that you can review through the online workroom we set up to manage your project. You can modify these as many times as you’d like, and we’ll only send your piece into production after we’ve received your explicit approval to do so. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Diamond Solitaire
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.16 carat princess cut diamond, and it’s bar set in 18k white gold at the very top of the band. This is also the widest part of the band, extending exactly as far as the edges of the diamond on either side. The setting is completely open on the ring fronts, providing for a clear view of the stone and allowing plenty of light to reach it as well. Diamond Engagement Rings
Band Design and Customization Options
The band is flat all the way around, and it’s widest at the top, tapering substantially as it moves down either side. This helps emphasize the lovey diamond at the top, and it creates a modern look as well.
One element to experiment with during the customization process could be the metal used in the band, as rose or yellow gold are both options that would bring some contrast and warmth do the design. Changing the shape of the center stone is worth considering as well, as is using a different color diamond for an even greater contrast and complexity.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
