They initially came into the showroom to view some different types of pieces and decide on the types of features they liked. Once we knew what style they were leaning towards, we created a CAD model of their piece, which we shared with them online. After several rounds of adjustments, they were satisfied that we had perfectly captured their vision, and they gave approval to move their piece into production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Three-stone Setting
The main stone in this ring is a 1.01 carat round brilliant cut diamond. It’s cradled in a four prong platinum setting, and the way the flat prongs curl up to wrap around the stone really help highlight its beautiful shape.
On either side of this larger stone, a smaller round diamond is bright cut set in 18k yellow gold. These each sit in a small pocket on the shank shoulders, which are formed in the same style as the looping filigree below the main setting. They are also lined with milgrain beading, and this intensifies the antique effect while also framing the stones beautifully.
FIligree and Engraving
The fronts of the ring below the center stone are covered with an intricate, open filigree design, which is another element that contributes to the antique style of the piece. Custom hand engraving begins right where this filigree ends as well, and our client picked out the pattern specifically for its compatibility with the design of the filigree. The engraving continues all the way down almost to the bottom of the ring on both fronts, while the top of the band remains smooth and slightly rounded. Vintage Engagement Rings
Two-tone Band
While the majority of this ring is made from yellow gold, the setting for the main diamond is platinum. The entire ring was going to be platinum in our initial design, but our client decided she liked the look of yellow gold better and opted to keep the center setting platinum for added security and stability.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
