We communicated with her primarily online after her initial visit. We went through several sets of revisions as well just to make sure that every detail was exactly right.
Asscher Cut Center
An asscher cut is similar to an emerald cut, but it is always square, and it’s generally more brilliant thanks to some slight differences in the size of the table and step facets. It was first developed by Joseph Asscher in 1902 and was quite popular in the following years. This beautiful cut recently began making a comeback. Diamond Engagement Rings
The particular diamond in this piece is 1.30 carats, and the style of cut helps to reinforce the ring’s antique overtones. It’s cradled by four talon prongs, and the way these come to a point across each of the stone’s truncated corners helps highlight the intricacies of the shape and cut.
Diamond Accents
Small round diamonds are split prong set all the way around the band of the ring, helping to minimize the amount of metal shown between the stones while also adding some vintage flair. The fact that the diamonds go all the way around makes it an eternity band, and this brings overtones of eternal love to the design as well.
There are additional diamond accents on the sides of the prongs and the basket surrounding the lower portion of the diamond. These are round and bright cut set, and they ensure the piece sparkles no matter what direction it’s viewed from. Inverted V shapes form the sides of the basket below the main diamond, and these were one of the details our client worked closely on with our designer. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
