Most of the way around, the band of this ring is straight and flat. But at about the one-quarter point on one side, it splits, with the thicker top strand veering off to bend around one side of the center diamond and connect to the band on the other side, forming a continuous line. The thinner strand curves out in the opposite direction, and then wraps all the way around the diamond, eventually narrowing to a point that rests up against the main portion of the band.
This arrangement creates an asymmetric design that helps this piece stand out as unique while also providing some contemporary flair.
