This elegant engagement ring features a radiant cut solitaire diamond set atop a criss-cross platinum shank. It was designed for a client from Sammamish, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom and browsed our collection to pick out the features she liked best. She also brought along pictures of inspiration pieces she loved, and we used all of these details to create her dream ring.

Diamond Solitaire
The single diamond in this ring is a 1.20 carat radiant cut stone, and it sparkles brilliantly from all sides thanks to the beautiful four-prong setting holding it in place. The setting rises up significantly above the band, which was one of the main details the client wanted to included into her piece. Diamond Engagement Rings
A solitaire diamond is a very traditional choice for an engagement ring, but that doesn’t mean they’re all the same. This ring incorporates contemporary design elements in a minimalist style, and the use of a radiant cut for the diamond gives it an unconventional flair. The radiant cut stone can be rectangular or square, which makes it similar in shape to an emerald cut, but the arrangement of the facets increases its brilliance.
Criss-cross Shank
The otherwise smooth and uniform shank splits just before it reaches the center setting, and the strands produced cross each other, intertwining as they reach up to form the prongs of the main setting. This gives the design a bit of a whimsical twist, and it emphasizes the lovely shape of the diamond as well.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
