On his visit to the showroom, he found a couple of rings that he wanted to combine into a unique design. We presented him with a CAD model of what this would look like, and after requesting a few clarifications and adjustments, he gave approval to move the ring into production. Diamond Solitaire
A solitaire diamond is perhaps the most traditional type of engagement ring. It includes only a single large diamond, demonstrating the singular and exclusive nature of your love. Just because you choose to go with the traditional, however, doesn’t mean you can’t also make your ring unique, and this piece is a perfect example of that. Solitaire Engagement Rings
The diamond at the top is 2 carats and round brilliant cut. It sits in a 6-prong platinum setting that rests directly on the heavy yellow gold band. While he always knew he wanted a 6-prong setting, the client was unsure of the exact shape he wanted it to take. We initially generated two different sets of CAD models so that he could compare the styles side by side, and he then requested to see one of them with a slight modifications, which is the style he eventually went with.
Two-tone Design
The use of platinum for the setting adds a two-tone element to the piece, and it also helps the diamond shine more brightly. The elegant silvery color of the metal blends in with the stunning sparkle of the stone, helping to keep it front and center.
The 14k yellow gold band below the main setting is perfectly round. It’s wide and thick, which was the look the client was after, and it tapers slightly as it nears the top where the main setting connects. It’s rounded and polished as well, which lends the ring a lovely bit of classical flair. Custom Engagement Rings Seattle
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
