Description
This dazzling engagement ring features a pear shaped diamond in the center, surrounded by a contoured halo of split prong set diamonds, and accented by additional pear shaped and round split prong set diamonds on the yellow gold shank below. He had an inspiration piece in mind, but he also knew how he wanted to modify it to make it more unique and personally significant. We developed models in CAD based on our conversations with him, and he was very happy with these. He also came in again to approve the diamond we had sourced for the center, as well as to view a wax model of the design before we turned his project over to our expert artisans to begin production.
Center Setting and Halo
At the top of this ring, a 1.39 carat pear shaped diamond is prong set in 14k yellow gold. Slightly lower down, a contoured halo of split prong set diamonds surrounds this larger stone, adding to its impressive presentation while also sending extra light up onto it to help intensify its shine. The halo style is one with a long history in engagement rings, and its classical overtones are enhanced by the use of yellow gold to hold the stones. The warm tones of this metal contrast beautifully with the brilliant white sparkle of the diamonds, a combination that helps highlight the beauty of both elements. Halo Engagement Rings
Band Design and Diamond Accents
The band is straight and narrow, with split prong set diamond accents beginning at about the three-quarter point on each side. From here, they run up in a line to the spot on the shank shoulder where the band splits, about a quarter of the way from the top. The two strands that form here continue up towards the underside of the main setting while angling away from each other, and they hold lines of split prong set diamonds as well.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
