Engagement Ring Description

This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a six prong setting at the center of a wrapped yellow gold shank, accented by channel set diamonds. It was created along with a matching wedding band for a client from Madison, WI, who came to us with a clear idea of the type of set he wanted to create.

Since he lived too far away to visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, we collaborated with him online, sharing models and information through the dedicated workroom we set up to manage his project. To make sure everything was perfect, we also grew him a wax model of the design and shipped it to him so that he could examine it before giving his final approval for us to begin casting both pieces in metal. Center Diamond

The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.60 carat round brilliant cut diamond, and it’s cradled beautifully in a six prong setting made of 14k yellow gold. The contrast between the brilliant white diamond and the warm glow of the metal only enhances the beauty of each, and the use of the six prong setting gives the center a vaguely floral quality.

Band Design and Accents

The band features a Euroshank design at the bottom, and it’s straight on the way up the sides. On each side of the center setting, however, the shank curves off to the right, allowing it to wrap around one side of the larger diamond about half-way down the setting. These wraps end just short of meeting the band on the opposite side, and they each hold a line of six channel set round diamond accents for a bit of glamorous flair. Matching Wedding Sets

Interlocking Wedding Sets

We designed this ring and its matching wedding band simultaneously, and so we were able to ensure they fit perfectly together. This was especially important, as the client wanted the two rings to intertwine slightly at the top to allow the two diamonds on the wedding band to tuck into the open spaces in the wrap on either side of the engagement ring’s center setting. This gives the set a lovely sense of unity as well as a beautiful flow, and the client was very happy with the way both rings turned out.
