After some initial discussions via email, we set up a dedicated online workroom, as we do for all of the custom projects we take on. Through here, we were able to share images and notes on the design, and after a couple of rounds of revisions, the client approved the piece to send into production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Setting
The diamond at the center of this ring is a 1.44 carat marquise cut, and the six platinum prongs holding it in place highlight its lovely shape. It sits in the center of a diamond halo that’s contoured to match the lines of the stone. The diamonds in the halo are all round and bright cut set, and the surface they’re on angles out slightly to mirror the upward tilt of the underside of the diamond.
Right in line with the band, a bezel set emerald sits in the middle of the arc of the halo on either side of the main diamond. The client requested these be added specifically, and he also wanted to approve the shade of green before we set them to make sure they were exactly right. They add a nice burst of color to the piece, and they have personal significance for the client too. Diamond Engagement Rings
Split Shank and Diamond Accents
When the client originally came to us, he asked for a design as delicate as possible due to the fact that his girlfriend had very small hands and he didn’t want the ring to look bulky. With that in mind, we designed the ring with a straight shank, but after discussing the piece with his girlfriend, the client asked that we include a bit of a swirling design up at the top where the band connects to the main setting.
His girlfriend had asked him to put a bit of his creativity into the piece, and this was what he came up with. We integrated it into the ring, and it helps to make the piece truly one-of-a-kind while adding extra personal significance for the couple. The band is also bright cut set with diamonds down to the mid-point, and the remainder of the shank is covered with custom hand engraving with the exception of a small sizing bar at the bottom. Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.

I worked with Joseph Jewelry for about a month designing, re-designing and having them make my fiance's engagement ring. They did an incredible job, and their price was very reasonable. They crafted a completely custom platinum, diamond and emerald ring for around $400 less than a local store wanted for a similar stock ring (without the accent emeralds or custom engraving that Joseph Jewelry added). Even though I had them re-design the ring twice before production, they did not complain at all and did not charge any extra for the time and work they had to do. I also liked that I did not have to haggle to get a reasonable price. Simply put, this is a company that takes pride in their work, uses reasonable upfront pricing, and above all, wants their customers to be satisfied with the resulting product. Also, it is the only custom jewelry manufacturer I've found that gives a lifetime limited warranty on manufacturing for their custom work. Even if you're not local, give Joseph Jewelry a try; I live far away and have never visited Joseph's shop, but they made me feel connected to the process by uploading photos every step of the way.
