This elegant engagement ring features a pear-shaped diamond prong set in platinum, surrounded by a halo of split prong set diamonds, and accented by round bright cut set diamonds, filigree and milgrain. It was created for a client from Tacoma, WA, who reached out to us online to share his ideas about the kind of ring he hoped to design for his fiancée-to-be. We worked through various options for the center stone and combinations of other elements possible to get the look he wanted while staying within his budget, and he was very happy with how it all came together in this stunning finished piece. Center Diamond and Halo

The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.70 carat pear-shaped diamond that’s prong set in platinum. It lies perpendicularly across the band, with its pointed end extending somewhat farther than its rounded end. This positioning gives the design a nice sense of balance, and it also helps to enhance the apparent size of the center setting. Unique Engagement Rings

The large pear-shaped diamond is surrounded by a halo of round diamonds that are all split prong set in platinum. This halo follows the contours of the center stone exactly, helping to highlight the beautiful lines of the cut while simultaneously sending extra light up onto the larger diamond from below. Filigree and Milgrain

That vintage aesthetic is enhanced by the addition of a filigree basket below the main setting that incorporates intricate swirls and marquise shaped sections that hold additional diamond accents. These diamonds are bright cut set, and they’re lined by rows of milgrain beading that help to complete the vintage look. The filigree swirls sit above them, filling the space between the marquise sections and the bottom of the halo and completing the delicate look of the center setting.
