He began by sharing some of his inspiration pieces with us online, and then we worked to come up with a design that unified the features he liked best. Although he couldn’t visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, our high-tech 3D imaging program and our wonderful design team enabled us to create a ring that was exactly what he wanted in every way.
Center Marquise
The stone at the top of this ring is a 0.81 carat marquise shaped brilliant cut diamond, and it’s held securely by six platinum prongs. The diamond has long been used in engagement rings, as it symbolizes love, romance, purity, and beauty, all of which are fitting sentiments to attach to so significant a piece. Accent Stones
Green peridots sit on either side of the center diamond, and their delicate color contrasts wonderfully with the sparkling white of the diamond above. The peridots are pear shaped, and they come to a point right as they meet the two ends of the split shank, which helps to give the piece a nice balance.
Custom Filigree
The shank itself splits close to the bottom of the ring, and the two sides bend outward and then back in towards each other again, creating a leaf-shaped space in the middle of the band. This is filled with a custom filigree with an organic theme that includes leaves and vines, and this detail gives a bit of a whimsical quality to the ring.
There are also a few scroll filigrees tucked under the center setting, and between these is a horse head accent. The horse motif was something that the client really wanted to work in somehow, and we came up with this tasteful means to do so.
A Personal Touch
One of the best parts about having a custom engagement ring made is that you can include elements, like this client did with the horse head, that have specific personal significance. Our expert artisans can complete all kinds of custom metalwork, and our design team will help you find just the right way to work your desired features or themes into the piece.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
