Custom Sapphire Engagment Ring
Item #100805 $8,208 Price does not include center stoneEngagement Ring Description
We took the information he gave us about the kind of piece he was envisioning and turned it into a unique design that he was free to adjust until it was perfect. Although he never visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person, the skills of our team and the wonderful technological tools we have at our disposal allowed us to create a fine custom piece he was very happy with.
Cognac Sapphire
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.30 cushion shaped cognac sapphire with a rich brown color. It’s tension set in platinum, and the way the sides of the setting cradle the stone complement its shape nicely while also bringing some contemporary flair to the design.
Our client was undecided about the type of center stone he wanted when he began the design process, and so we provided him with quite a few different options. After careful consideration, he decided to go with a colored sapphire, and we shared photos of the colors he requested so he could make sure it was perfect.
The lovely brown of this stone is the perfect counterpoint to the brilliant white of the platinum, and the contrast between them helps intensify the beauty of both. Sapphires are a great alternative to diamonds in engagement rings, as they’re nearly as hard and come in a wide range of colors so you can choose the perfect shade for your piece.
Contrasting Finishes
The platinum band of this ring features a brushed finish on top, which creates a nice matte effect. This contrasts beautifully with the sparkle of the sapphire, as well as with the high polish finish found on the ring fronts and the sides of the center setting. This contrast brings a new dimension to the design, giving it complexity while still keeping with the minimalist, contemporary look that our client was after.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
