We used the elements she selected to develop an original design, which she then modified until it was just what she wanted. In addition to engaging in online communication, the client also visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person several times to discuss the project and view examples of the various features she wanted to incorporate.
Three-stone Setting
This design centers on a three-stone setting, anchored by a 1.01 carat marquise shaped brilliant cut diamond. This elegant stone is beautifully displayed in a six prong platinum setting, with one prong at each of the points and two on each side. It’s oriented to sit lengthwise when worn, which is a popular arrangement as it helps make the finger appear longer and more slender. Diamond Engagement Rings
The green peridots on either side of this center stone are pear-shaped, with their wider ends resting up against the side of the prongs holding the diamond. These side-stones are also prong set, and the way they taper moving away from the wider center stone helps ease the transition to the narrower band.
Split Shank and Filigree
In fact, the band itself tapers, mirroring the shape of the peridots to some degree. It begins as a solid piece at the bottom, but it splits about one third of the way up the side, and the two pieces move away from each other until they’re about two thirds of the way up to the top. At this point, they curve back in, coming to a point right where they meet the side stones of the center setting.
The space between the split sections of the band is filled with an ornate custom filigree hand-formed from 18k yellow gold. Our client wanted an organic pattern incorporated here, and our expert artisans produced this exquisite design made from twisted vines and leaves.
While there are many ways to customize a design like this, adjusting the pattern in the filigree is a good way to work in a symbol of special significance. Other options include using a different combination of metals, changing the shape of the center and side stones, and choosing a different type or color of gem to replace the current ones. Our experts can help you examine the ways that any of these changes would impact the overall look of the piece, and we’ll continue to make adjustments until you’re completely satisfied with the design. Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
