To ensure we had every detail of his piece perfect, we shared multiple concept sketches and CAD models with the client through the online workroom we set up to manage his project. He requested adjustments and clarifications as the process progressed, and we discussed options over the phone several times as well to eliminate the possibility of confusion or miscommunication. 100% Satisfaction
Center Setting
In the center of this ring, a 2.31 carat oval alexandrite is prong set in 14k palladium white gold. It’s oriented east/west so that it lies inline with the band, which was what the client requested. This positioning facilitates the swirling effect of the outer halo, and it provides a nice balance for the ring as well.
Surrounding the large alexandrite is a split prong set halo of round sapphires that exhibit various shades of blue and purple. This gradual change in shade from one section of the halo to the next was an important element for the client, and one that we spent a great deal of time on in order to get exactly right. The specific colors of the sapphire accents were chosen to reflect the various shades of purple and blue that can be seen in the alexandrite, helping to highlight the intricacy and beauty of the larger stone. Band Design and Diamond Accents
The band features a Euroshank design, with softly rounded corners at the bottom helping to balance out the large center setting on top. It’s straight and narrow coming up the sides, with spilt prong set diamond accents beginning at the mid-points. These continue up all the way into the center setting, as the band curves off to one side near the top to wrap around the inner sapphire halo. The effect is a swirling center setting that gives the impression the center stone is doubly wrapped in brilliant gemstones, creating a truly stunning look full of glamorous flair.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
