They subsequently communicated with our team online to view renderings of various alternative designs and decide which they liked best. They also came into our showroom again to select the sapphire they wanted to use in the center, and they were very happy with the way the ring turned out. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Sapphire Center
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.72 carat blue sapphire. It’s held in a tension setting that’s formed by the wrapped ends of the shank, and the way these strands curve around the large center stone bring a graceful dynamic to the ring. Although diamonds are the most common choice for engagement rings, sapphires are frequently used as well, and the wide variety of colors they come in gives you many options if you’re looking to work in a personal detail to your piece.
Diamond and Sapphire Accents
Small round diamonds and sapphires are bright cut set in an alternating pattern along the shoulders of the shank. They begin at about the mid-point on the band, and they continue all the way up to the tapered ends of the strands that wrap around the center stone. They’re lined with milgrain beading, which lends some vintage flair to the design, and they bring their own special sparkle as well. Sapphire and Diamond Engagement Rings
Filigree and Engraving
A beautiful hand-engraved organic scroll pattern covers the top of the band below where the diamond and sapphire accents stop. This detail also runs up one front of each side, continuing up to cover the fronts of the main setting as well.
On the side of the shank that’s not engraved, lovely floral filigree fills the space between the band and the center sapphire. This integrates well with the pattern in the hand-engraving, and it establishes a decidedly organic theme for the piece. The clients briefly considered working small accent diamonds into these filigree flowers as well, but eventually decided it was perfect without them.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
