Description
This one-of-a-kind fashion ring features a large custom-cut tanzanite in a wrap setting with a woven look and blue sapphire accents. It was created for a client from East Orange, New Jersey, who had a tanzanite gemstone and wanted it set into a truly unique ring.

Using the client's inspiration photos, we created 3D CAD models that accentuated the unique center stone. After a few design iterations, the client loved the design, and our experienced bench jewelers brought it to life in polished platinum. Design Your Own Ring
Tanzanite Gemstone
Tanzanite is a lovely deep blue gem. It can only be found in Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro, and is associated with luck and prosperity. Tanzanite color ranges from violet blue to indigo. The Mohs hardness for tanzanite is 6 to 7, so while it is a fairly durable gemstone, one must be careful.
Custom Cut Gemstones
For years, our design team has partnered with a talented gemstone cutter to give our clients the option of ethically sourced, uniquely cut gems. This particular tanzanite weighs over six carats with a shape that crosses a radiant cut with an oval. Fashion Rings
Fashion Ring Design
This ring was designed specifically to highlight the center stone. The wrapped edges create a secure housing for the gem, weaving down the shank in a tapered fashion like polished ribbons. Set at even intervals, there are bezel-set royal blue sapphires.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
