The centerpiece of this ring is the onyx gemstone. It is an opaque black gemstone cut in a rectangular shape and held in place by a bezel setting. Onyx is a beautiful gemstone choice for a cocktail ring, as it is a sleek black color. The gemstone is thought to provide mental and spiritual support, as well as convert negative energy into positive. Another black gemstone option would be a black diamond, which may be a bit harder for durability and daily wear.
Relief Engraving
The rest of the shank of this ring is covered in relief engraving. This is a specialty type of hand engraving, as it requires the engraver to cut the metal away from the design, instead of cutting the design into metal. There are many ways to customize this ring. One could start with the center gemstone: the options are endless! It is a nice size for a cocktail ring, but you could absolutely make the center smaller or a different shape if you wanted.
