Center Pearl
At the top of this ring, a large Tahitian pearl sits in a 14k white gold setting, rising up significantly above the narrow band below. Its rich brownish color brings wonderful contrast and depth to the design, and the beauty of its silky matte surface is highlighted by the proximity of the intricate, polished band below.
Hand Engraving and Milgrain
The band is narrow and made from 14k white gold. It’s also covered with intricate patterns of custom hand engraving on both the top and fronts, and these continue all the way around the band. The pattern of the engraving was something the client specifically requested, and we can work with you to find a similarly significant pattern if you’d like to customize this aspect of the ring. All sections of the engraving are bordered on both sides by delicate milgrain beading that frames them beautifully and adds some vintage flair to the design. This milgrain also runs along the bottom of the center setting, following the line of the cup holding the pearl and brining a sense of continuity to both sections of the piece.
Customization Options
If you’re interested in a ring like this but want it to reflect a more contemporary look, you may want to eliminate the milgrain, and perhaps even widen the band a bit. Or you might like to add some diamond accents to enhance the contrast between the color of the pearl and the shiny white of the band below.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
