Chatham Emerald Center
The stunning green stone in the center of this piece is a 1.37 carat Chatham emerald. It’s framed beautifully by the four double prongs that wrap around the clipped corners of the stone, softening and enhancing its shape.
The emerald is turned to sit lengthwise across the finger, which keeps its borders in line with the edges of the split shank. Further, the rich silvery color of the palladium contrasts nicely with the complex green of the large center stone, helping it to really stand out.
Split Shank Design and Diamond Accents
The entire bottom portion of this band is flat and relatively narrow, and it shines with a high-polish finish. At the mid-point, however, rows of round bright cut set diamonds appear, with two on the top and one on each of the ring fronts. These continue all the way up to the main setting, highlighting the details in the split shank design as they do so.
The shank splits just above where the accent diamonds start, and each strand twists slightly as it moves out until it’s at about a 90 degree angle from where it started when it reaches the center setting. This allows for a lovely effect, as each strand then loops downward to connect with the strand coming from the ring front below it.
Joining the two loops on each ring front right below the center emerald is a round bezel set diamond, which serves as the perfect unifier for the diverse design elements found in this piece. The accent diamonds also bring their own brilliant white color into play to contrast with the larger emerald, and this adds depth as well as glamour to the design.
