Platinum Custom Tanzanite And Diamond Ring
Item #1433Fashion Ring Description
Many people begin the custom design process with thoughts about the structure and style of the band. But another way to approach this type of project can be to find the perfect gemstone and build your design around that. No matter which way you choose to go, however, our team is always available to assist you, both online and in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom.
Tanzanite Center
The lovely blue tanzanite at the center of this ring is 1.08 carats, and it’s prong set in 14k white gold. It’s also rotated so that its corners occupy the compass positions, and this twist flows perfectly with the organic movement of the split shank below. The color of tanzanites can vary, ranging from bluish-purple to blue-violet, depending on the way it’s cut, and the skill of the gemstone cutter plays a significant role in bringing out the natural beauty of the stone.
Two-tone Band
The majority of this band is made from 18k yellow gold, and it’s mostly straight all the way around. There is a slight movement to the left as it nears the center setting, however, as this yellow gold piece comes back in to cross beneath the center tanzanite and meet it’s opposing end at that point.
Right at the spot where the yellow gold begins to bend, a 14k white gold strand breaks off in the opposite direction, and this mirrors the movement of the main band, looping out before coming back to meet the white gold strand from the other side directly below the main setting. The white gold also extends up, however, transitioning smoothly into the prongs holding the tanzanite in place.
Diamond Accents
Another small branch splits off the white gold strand even closer to the center setting, which is what creates the channel setting to hold the small round diamonds that accent the main stone. There are two diamonds on each side, and they introduce a beautiful sparkle and stunning contrast to help enhance the natural beauty of the tanzanite to an even greater degree.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
