This beautiful men’s wedding ring features a relief engraving in the center, bordered by lines of milgrain beading and polished rails. It was created for a client from Tacoma, WA, who came to us with a general idea of the type of ring he wanted. We presented him with several options in CAD of the basic structure his piece could take, and once he chose his favorite, we turned his project over to our expert artisans to begin production. Band Design and Engraving
The main section of this ring is the middle band, which is covered with an engraved floral pattern. The client provided the inspiration for this pattern, and our master engraver turned it into this stunning and intricate work of art.
The style of engraving used here is called relief engraving because of the way the design is left to stand out while the background is what’s cut away. It’s much more difficult and time consuming to complete when compared to traditional engraving, which involves carving the design itself into the metal, but it’s also considered much more elegant.
The engraved pattern, along with the milgrain beading framing it on either side, helps to give the ring its beautiful classical flair. And to balance out the piece, narrow rails run along the outside of the rows of milgrain. The entire piece is made of yellow gold, and this only helps to reinforce the classic themes present throughout.
