Item #103237 $8,256Men's Wedding Band Description
He was interested in a ring that incorporated elements from several different inspiration pieces, and he shared those with us. We took that information and turned it into a series of sketches that we posted online for him to evaluate. He provided some feedback, and we adjusted our designs accordingly until we found the perfect combination of features to get the look he was after. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
Relief Engraving
The pattern seen on this band was drawn from an inspiration piece that the client provided. We modified it to fit in the space available, as well as to work with the type of engraving the client was interested in. Initially, our models had the pattern engraved into the metal, but the client decided he preferred to have the design itself raised and the background cut away. This is referred to as relief engraving, and it is considered to be the most elegant type of hand engraving. Hand Engraving
Blue Sapphires and Milgrain
The client wanted to incorporate marquise shaped blue sapphires into his piece, as they were also used in his wife’s engagement ring. Their presence here helped to create a link between the two pieces, and their rich blue also adds a beautiful counterpoint to the brilliant white of the metal. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
The sapphires, which number six in all, are each bezel set straight up and down in between two of the engraved sections. The bezel settings are lined with milgrain beading for a hint of vintage flair, and that milgrain also runs in two parallel lines around the entire center section, framing it perfectly.
Contrasting Finishes
To highlight various aspects of the piece further, we utilized contrasting finishes on the raised and recessed sections of the ring. The background of the engraved area is sandblasted, which creates a gently-textured matte surface, while the rails and raised design are polished to a high shine.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
