Two-Tone Design
The client had a particular design in mind for his wedding ring, and he provided us with a sketch of what he was looking for. We incorporated this into a ring design, the CAD images of which we shared online through the workroom we created for the project. He knew he wanted two different colors, but he was unsure of the exact types of metal to use, and we advised him on this detail.
He was thinking of two different types of gold, but we suggested he use platinum for one strand, as it does not require replating to maintain its silvery color over time. For the other strand, we recommended rose gold to match the women’s rings that make up the rest of the set, and he agreed with both suggestions. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
Contrasting Finishes
In addition to the cross-over design, the client wanted to make sure there was a clear separation between the two strands. To create this effect, he requested that both strands have beveled edges on both sides, which creates a V shape between them all the way around the ring.
In order to enhance this separation, we utilized contrasting finishes, with a brushed surface on top and a high polish on the recessed areas. The fronts and interior of the band are also polished, and the texture comparison adds a wonderful layer of intricacy to the design.
Custom Wedding Sets
While you might already know you want your engagement ring and wedding band to match, it can be a nice touch to think of a way to include some shared features in the men’s band as well. The style of men’s wedding rings is often quite different from that of the women’s, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work in some subtle touches, such as a use of the same type of metal, to unite the set.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
