Men's Etched Mokume Band
Item #100522Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
Mokume gane refers to a specialized technique that’s used to combine several different types of metal in a particular way, resulting in the beautiful designs reminiscent of wood grain you see in this piece. In the case of this ring, the metals used are 14k rose gold, 14k palladium white gold, and sterling silver, and the wonderful contrast between these three adds to the dramatic effect of the piece. Finish and Etching
In order to highlight the intricacies of the mokume pattern further, this piece was acid etched, and that gives it a more unevenly textured surface that works perfectly with the organic overtones already present. It was also sandblasted to create a nice matte surface that brings out particular characteristics of the various metals used.
Customization Options
If you’re interested in customizing this ring, there are many options to consider. For instance, you may want to use a different mix of metals, possibly by substituting yellow gold for the rose or white gold. Eliminating the acid etching would create a smoother surface if that’s the type of look you’re after, and choosing a brushed or high polish finish rather than the sandblasted would give the ring a different feel as well. Men’s Custom Wedding Bands
The width of the band is another element of the design to consider carefully, as it will impact both the appearance of the piece and how comfortable it is to wear. This ring is 6mm wide, which is on the narrow side when it comes to men’s wedding rings. You may already know that you like wider or narrower rings, but if you don’t, it’s a good idea to try on some rings of varying widths to determine what’s the most comfortable for you.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
