Men's Mokume Wedding Band
Item #102829Men's Wedding Band Description
Mokume Gane
The body of this piece consists of a mokume gane band made from a combination of 14k palladium white gold, 14k rose gold, and sterling silver. It was oxidized to create the dramatic black sections, which contrast beautifully with the warmer colors of the rose and white gold and really help the pattern stand out.
To make a piece like this, our artisans take thin sheets of the various metals chosen and layer them together before forging them using a particular technique. This process was developed in Japan several hundred years ago, and it takes a great deal of skill and experience to master. Due to the nature of the forging process, no two mokume gane pieces will every be exactly the same, although we can produce about an 80% pattern match to a sample piece.
Scroll Edges
Rails of unplated 14k white gold run along both sides of the mokume band, and their edges extend up to overlap the center section. These overlapping areas feature a lovely scroll design, and the lines of this pattern dictate the borders of the rails, making for an alternating pattern in which the peaks on one side line up with the valleys on the other.
Contrasting Finishes
To further highlight the unique aspects of each section of this piece, contrasting finishes were used. The mokume band is brushed, creating a matte effect that complements the rich colors and pattern nicely. The scrolls on the edges, on the other hand, received a high polish finish, and this helps emphasize their delicate detailing while further distinguishing them from the mokume they frame.Design Your Own Wedding Ring
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
