Platinum Custom Blue Sapphire Men's Band
Item #102750 $8,270Men's Wedding Band Description
To begin the custom design process, she shared her inspiration piece with us and outlined the modifications she’d like to make. She also asked about the options for different metal combinations, and we helped her find the right one to get the look she was after.
Channel Set Sapphires
The main change the client made to her inspiration piece was to use a row of round channel set blue sapphires in the middle rather than a third rope inlay. This gives the piece a much more upscale look without adding too much sparkle, and it also introduces a lovely contrast. The use of a channel setting here is essential to the overall aesthetic as well, since it allows the rich blue of the sapphires to show through clearly without overwhelming the piece.
Cable Inlay
On either side of the line of sapphires and equidistant from the edges of the band, a twisted cable inlay made from platinum wire runs all the way around the ring. These frame the sapphires beautifully, and they also add wonderful texture and depth to the design. The use of platinum for these inlays creates an ever-so-slight contrast with the palladium that makes up the body of the ring as well.
Contrasting Finishes
As a final touch, the top surfaces of the piece feature a brushed finish, while the platinum inlays are polished. This subtle use of contrasting finishes highlights the separation of the two sections, and it gives the ring a satisfying, balanced feel. Design Your Own Wedding Ring
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
