Description
This exquisite pendant features a trillion tanzanite in chevron prongs, with a band of channel set diamond accents running above it. This piece was created for a client from New Port Richey, FL, who already had the center stone she wanted to use. Tanzanite Center
The centerpiece of this pendant is a 6.47 carat tanzanite with a deep blue color. It’s trillion cut, which gives it a roughly triangular shape, and the three chevron prongs that hold it in place cradle its corners beautifully. Our original models had double talon prongs for this center setting, but the client requested we switch to chevron as she liked the look of them better.
Pendant Design and Diamond Accents
The tanzanite is oriented with one flat edge on top and one corner pointing directly down. The size and weight of the stone help give the pendant a nice balance.
A sleek border follows the contours of the tanzanite exactly along the two lower edges, and at the top, it angles up and in as it begins its transition into the bale. The strands from either side cross over each other and then connect above, creating a loop that the client specifically wanted to include in her design, and the chain passes directly through this loop thanks to openings in both sides.
Just at the point where the two strands cross over, a band of channel set round diamonds runs across the front of the piece, bringing their glamorous sparkle and an additional level of contrast to the design. Our initial models had shared prong set diamonds, but the client requested the change to the channel setting, and this, along with the use of the chevron prongs in the main setting, helps give the piece a more contemporary look.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
