Whether you live close by and can visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, or you prefer to complete your custom design project online, our team will work closely with you every step of the way. We can provide as much guidance as you need when determining what features to include, and we’ll share our high-quality CAD models with you so you can see exactly what your piece will look like and approve it before we begin production.
Sapphire Center
The centerpiece of this pendant is a 1.30 carat round red-orange sapphire, and it’s complemented perfectly by the 14k yellow gold it’s set in. The prongs holding the sapphire are placed in the compass positions, which means that two are inline with the bale, and this contributes to the nice overall visual balance of the design.
Sapphires are available in a huge range of colors, and so choosing a different one for the center of your piece is a good way to begin the customization process. Whether it’s a favorite color, birthstone, or otherwise significant color, using a gemstone with special meaning will greatly enhance the significance of the piece.
Diamond Halo and Filigree
Surrounding the center is a halo of small round diamonds, and they’re all bright cut set in yellow gold and lined with milgrain beading, which frames them beautifully. The brilliant sparkle of the diamonds helps enhance the rich tones of the sapphire, and it also gives the entire pendant a more glamorous flair.
A narrow basket protects the backs of the gemstones, the sides of which are formed by a series of custom filigree scrolls. This type of intricate metalwork is completed by our expert artisans by hand, and we can customize it to represent a symbol or pattern with special significance to you as well.

Design and estimate

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
