Mother of Pearl Center
At the center of this piece, a round black mother of pearl. The warm shine of the metal contrasts beautifully with the rich black surface of the mother of pearl, and that relationship helps to highlight the beauty of both elements. In addition, the rich darkness of the mother of pearl is also interrupted by streaks of green, pink and yellow that appear in various places depending on the angle the piece is viewed from. Metal Overlay and Diamond Accents
At regular intervals, branches metal curl across the surface of the mother of pearl, and every other one of these is lined with pave set small round diamonds. There are 65 diamonds in all in the piece, and they combine to total 0.46 carats. The strands of metal that overlay the center, whether with or without diamonds, vary in length, and this brings a swirling, dynamic movement to the design while also hinting at more organic overtones. A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
