For just that reason, we surrounded the opal in the pendant with a halo of bright cut set round diamonds. The diamonds in the halo are also echoed by another diamond higher up, a bezel-set princess cut stone. It sits at the point where the two parts of the chain and the link rising up from the pendant converge, and its squared shape is a beautiful counterbalance to the asymmetrical opal.
