This gorgeous pendant features a black Tahitian pearl accented with a bezel and shared prong set diamonds on the bale above. It was created for a client from Bellevue, WA, and we can work with you to modify it in any number of ways. The design is rather minimalist in order to allow the mesmerizing beauty of the pearl to take center stage, but there is still plenty of room for you to put your own distinctive mark on it. Tahitian Pearl
The centerpiece of this pendant is a round black Tahitian pearl that measures about 11mm in diameter. As with most Tahitian pearls, it’s not entirely black, but exhibits various red, yellow, and brown highlights depending on the viewing angle. This makes the minimalist setting a great benefit, as it allows a clear view of the pearl from all sides and allows its natural beauty to shine through. Pendants
Setting and Bale
The pearl attaches to the bale only through a small circle at the top. Above this, a round diamond is bezel set, and that setting attaches to the marquise-shaped bale itself. The bale is lined with shared prong set small round diamonds that cover its entire front surface, adding a bit of glamorous sparkle and a hint of classical flair.
The sides of the bale are open, allowing the chain to pass directly through the middle. This arrangement means that the pendant can move freely on the chain, and it gives the impression of a seamless integration between bale and chain.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
