Center Aquamarine and Filigree
The centerpiece of this design is a 1.23 carat cushion shaped bezel set aquamarine. The delicate blue of the stone stands out next to the silvery shine of the metal, and that subtle contrast helps to enhance the beauty of both elements. The stone also features a particular arrangement of facets across its top surface that produces the distinctive look that gives the checkerboard cut its name.
Behind the stone, a basket made of organic-style filigree provides protection while still letting plenty of light in to reach the aquamarine. This detail helps enhance the vintage style of the piece overall, and it’s just one of the elements you can customize as you move through the process. Pendants
Diamond and Milgrain Accents
Above the main body of the pendant, a round diamond is bezel set at the base of the bale. The bale itself is composed of two strands that emerge from behind the bezel setting, angling away from each other before coming back to form a point right where they meet the chain. These strands form a marquise shape, and they are lined with split prong set diamonds for a dash of glamorous flair. As a finishing touch, both the aquamarine and the bezel set diamond are lined with milgrain beading.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
