Blue Topaz Center
At the center of this design is a 1.67 carat checkerboard cushion cut blue topaz with a rich blue color. It’s displayed beautifully in a modified bezel setting that protects the edges of the stone, while the open basket in the back ensures that plenty of light finds its way in.
Pendant Design
The bezel setting of the topaz follows the contours of the stone most of the way around, with the exception of the portion of the setting that lies in the middle of each side of the stone. At these spots, the metal curves up on either side, coming together to form a point and creating a tiny space between the setting and the stone in the middle of each side.
This is what gives the body of the pendant its shape as well, and it creates a somewhat star-like appearance for he topaz. The pendant attaches to the bale through a loop of metal that rises up from the topmost of these points, and the bale is decorated with metal beadwork. This combines with the double rows of milgrain beading that surround the topaz to add to the vintage overtones of the piece.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
