This gorgeous pendant features a trillion cut amethyst chevron prong set with diamond accents above and custom filigree on the basket. It was created for a client from Woodinville, WA who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to discuss the type of piece she wanted. Amethyst Center
The centerpiece of this pendant is a large trillion cut amethyst that comes in at 18.18 carats. It was provided by the client, and it features a lovely pattern of facets that produces a dazzling sparkle from all angles. It’s held securely in place by three chevron prongs that cup its corners, simultaneously protecting them and accentuating their lovely angles.
Choosing a special gemstone to build your piece around is one good way to begin the custom design process. It also ensures that the design we develop highlights all of the gem’s most impressive qualities, and especially if the stone is one with special meaning, it can bring even greater significance to the piece as a whole.
Diamond and Filigree Accents
A small ring of metal connects the top prong of the main setting to the bezel setting of the round brilliant cut diamond that sits just above it. This stone is 0.26 carats, and it contrasts with both the amethyst’s angular shape and with its rich purple color. The juxtaposition of these two beautiful gems brings out the best in both, and the sparkle of the diamond adds a decidedly glamorous flair to the piece.
Above the diamond, the marquise-shaped bale allows the chain to pass directly through it, which lets the the pendant move freely while seeming to dangle from the tip of the marquise shape. The bale is lined with small round diamonds that are all split prong set to minimize the amount of metal that shows around them and enhance the sparkle of the stones. Pendants
Finally, a lovely pattern of scroll filigree forms the sides and bottom of the basket holding the amethyst. This ties in nicely with the classical themes of the piece introduced elsewhere, and the significant size of the stone allows for plenty of space for the pattern to develop.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
